Systems Architect, Kiosk Segment
The Systems Architect for the Kiosk segment owns the technical definition of system-level products and platforms, consistent with the Kiosk segment strategy. The Systems Architect has domain-specific (kiosks) skills and experience to enable the development of cost-effective, innovative custom solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Develop system-level product and platform definitions, including System design, Hardware and Software architectures, Requirements specifications, Integration and Validation plans. - Establish common architecture among all kiosk design projects. - Develop detailed-design specifications to be used in the execution of the projects. - Ensure that the design intent is carried out by the design engineers assigned to the project. Maintain design integrity. - Ensure deliverables are consistent with product requirements and customer expectations. Lead the integration of all software and hardware into the final product. - Sell “beach-head” D&E projects (ATM, POS, new kiosk designs). - Accelerate engineering response to primary customers (proposal development, product development, participation in pilots). - In partnership with the supply-chain group, source, evaluate and select appropriate technologies, components, and building blocks to be used in the design of SLR kiosks. - Represent SLR in industry groups, trade shows, user groups and other speaking opportunities. - Author white papers on technologies and solutions. Qualifications: - Posses a strong background in system, software, and/or hardware engineering along with experience in subsystem designs. - 5 years experience in system-level product development with a focus on kiosks in the following areas: System design Functional partitioning Hardware and Software architectures Specification development System integration Verification and Validation - 5+ years experience in detailed development with a focus on kiosks in the following areas: Electrical design Mechanical design Application software - Proven knowledge of the kiosk industry, and kiosks’ based solutions and applications. In particular, the candidate must demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the following areas: ATM / POS products Touch-panel displays technologies Intel x86-based motherboards and Single-Board Computers Windows (XP, XPE, WEPOS), and Linux Operating Systems Kiosks’ accessories such as printers, keyboards, card readers, currency-handling systems Power supplies Enclosure design (materials, trade-offs) Software applications for kiosks-based solutions (ATM, POS, Digital Signage, etc.) - Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, tools, processes, and operations planning. - Experience project managing the deployment of products, platforms, and/or capabilities. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Superior verbal and written communication skills. - Personal initiative and ability to work both independently or as part of a team.
Education Bachelor's degree in EE / CS / ME. Masters degree preferred.
